These AMC+ shows and a version of CNN are coming to Max in September 2023

On Monday, Max announced a partnership with AMC+, a sort of streaming pop-up, where Max will carry seven AMC series for two months, starting Sept. 1. The selection is pretty good, too: “Fear the Walking Dead” Seasons 1-7, “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire” Season 1, “Dark Winds” Season 1, “Gangs of London” Seasons 1-2, “Ride with Norman Reedus” Seasons 1-5, “A Discovery of Witches” Seasons 1-3, and “Killing Eve” Seasons 1-4.

will finally implement a streaming plan for CNN, after scrapping CNN+ last year. The newly dubbed CNN Max will be added Sept. 27 to all tiers of the service, offering live news and original programming. It’s not a live feed of cable’s CNN, but it may be close enough for some cord-cutters.

Meanwhile, Max does have a smattering of original shows on the way, such as the animated comedy “Young Love” (Sept. 21), about a tight-knit Black family in Chicago, and based on Matthew A. Cherry’s acclaimed animated short “Hair Love”; Sam Jay’s standup comedy special “Salute Me Or Shoot Me” (date TBA); the documentary “Donyale Luna: Supermodel” (Sept. 13), about the groundbreaking Black supermodel; and Season 3 of “Starstruck” (Sept. 28), a London-set romantic comedy about a young, single woman navigating the pressures of adulthood.

There’s also “The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart” (Sept. 2), a movie that caps the seven-seasons-and-a-movie run of the Adult Swim favorite, and a million Food Network/HGTV/TLC shows.
