Ford Motor Company (NYSE:) released their 2Q sales report Thursday, posting double-digit sales increases and maintaining their spot as a top-selling brand and top-selling truck manufacturer in the United States. Total Ford vehicle sales climbed 11.2% to 511,538 vehicles driven primarily by its internal combustion engine pickup trucks, according to the company’s sales report.
“Ford achieved both bestselling brand and truck for six consecutive months this year on the strength of F-Series, vans, our new Escape and F-150 Lightning,” said Andrew Frick, vice president, sales distribution, and trucks.
“Our EV sales continue to grow. Improved Mustang Mach-E inventory flow began to hit at the end of Q2 following the retooling of our plant earlier this year, which helped Mustang Mach-E sales climb 110% in June.”
Ford has maintained its position as the leading brand for six consecutive months this year. Additionally, the F-Series continues to dominate the American truck market, achieving 46 years of consecutive sales success. During the second quarter, Ford truck sales experienced a significant boost, with a remarkable 26.2% increase. This growth can be attributed to the impressive performance of the new Super Duty model and improved inventory availability.
Internal combustion engine vehicle sales spiked 10% to 482,230 during the second quarter, while EV sales dropped 2.8% to 14,843. Hybrid vehicles climbed 15.7% to 34,589 year over year.
Shares of F are down 2.42% in mid-day trading on Thursday.
