Paramount Resources said Monday that it has restored most of the production that had been temporarily halted by wildfires in the province of Alberta.
Output has been fully restored in the Grande Prairie region, and Paramount expects to restore within a week all but 5,000 barrels of oil equivalent day of the 14,000 boe/d that remains shut-in in the Kaybob region, the Canadian energy company said.
It said the remaining 5,000 boe/d will be restores as facilities and fields are brought back on line, which it anticipates will be within a month.
Paramount was just one of several oil and gas producers operating in Alberta that were disrupted by fires in recent weeks.
The company said it estimates the wildfires resulted in roughly 38,000 boe/d of production being lost on average between May 5 and May 28.
