General Motors Co.
GM,
-2.17%
said it would recall nearly 1 million SUVs in the U.S. due to a defect that risked causing the front driver’s side air-bag inflator to burst when activated, Reuters reported on Friday. Dealers will replace the component in question, Reuters said. The move affects nearly 995,000 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia automobiles with model years between 2014 through 2017, Reuters said. The recalls follow a report of a driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse in Michigan who suffered facial injuries after a crash during which the front driver’s airbag inflator exploded, according to the news outlet. GM told Reuters it was investigating the matter. Shares dipped 0.2% after hours on Friday.
