Beyond Inc. on Tuesday named the former chief executive of HomePlus to lead its Bed Bath & Beyond business, while promoting an executive to lead its Overstock unit.

Chandra Holt has joined Beyond Inc.
BYON,
+4.98%
as Chief Executive of Bed Bath & Beyond after she was Chief Executive since 2021 of the Conn’s Inc.
CONN,
-3.75%
HomePlus unit, which has more than 180 stores in 15 states. She’s also worked in executive positions at Walmart Inc.
WMT,
+3.23%
and Target Corp.
TGT,
+0.93%.

Beyond Inc.’s stock was up by 1.3% on Tuesday. The stock is down by 5.3% in 2024, compared to a 3.5% rise by the Nasdaq

Bed Bath & Beyond went bankrupt and closed all of its stores before being turned into an online store when it was acquired last year by Overstock, which then changed its name to Beyond Inc.

Beyond Inc. also named Dave Nielsen as Chief Executive of Overstock. He has been with Overstock since 2009 including president from 2019 and was interim chief executive.

Adrianne Lee, the financial chief of Beyond Inc., will be be chief financial and administrative officer.

The moves come after Overtock.com rebranded itself as Beyond in November.

“Beyond is in the midst of a great transformation that required changes to the executive team structure in support of our strategic objectives to drive shareholder value,” said Marcus Lemonis, executive chairman of Beyond Inc.

In November, Beyond Inc. said Chairperson Allison Abraham will now share the chairperson title with Director Marcus Lemonis.

Beyond Inc. is the parent of Bed Bath & Beyond and the company formerly known as Overstock.

Also in November, Overstock renamed itself Beyond Inc. and switched its listing to NYSE under the BYON ticker.

An earlier version of this story contained an incorrect spelling for Chandra Holt in a headline.
