Mandalay Resources has appointed Hashim Ahmed as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Ahmed, who takes on the role effective March 1, succeeds Nick Dwyer, who resigned for personal reasons. The Canadian resource company said Dwyer will be supporting the transition to Ahmed.
The incoming CFO has spent the past 15 years of his career focused on the mining industry and has held a number of finance executive roles, most recently as CFO at Nova Royalty and prior to that at Jaguar Mining, Mandalay said. Previously, Ahmed worked at Barrick Gold for more than seven years, where he held senior positions in finance functions in Canada and with site finance teams in Chile.
